Fine art students from the University of North Florida are selected each year by Professor Louise Freshman Brown to take part in an intern partnership with Art with a Heart in Healthcare at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Nemours Children’s Clinic and the Ronald McDonald House in Jacksonville, Florida.

Art with a Heart is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing therapeutic creative experiences for critically ill children. While the interns offer the children an engrossing and expressive outlet often during intense physical discomfort, they are in turn rewarded with the invaluable experience of making art with purpose. The interactions of the interns with the children are profound as they realize the powerful contributions they offer with their skills.
